Hey everyone! Just got back from three weeks in Europe and my Discover card saved me a ton on foreign transaction fees. Curious what cards other students are using for travel — especially for building credit at the same time. Drop your recommendations below!

I've had the Discover Student for two years — the cashback match at the end of year one is genuinely insane. Ended up with $320 back which paid for a flight to Cancún.

The Capital One Savor Student is underrated for dining rewards. 3% back at restaurants as a college student adds up fast. No annual fee either.

PLEASE do not use a card with foreign transaction fees in Europe. I didn't know and it cost me like $80 over three months in France. Just switch cards.

Canadian here — the Neo Financial card is solid for no-fee cashback. For actual travel points, Scotia Passport is the goal card once you have income.

Great responses! The key takeaway: pick one card, no foreign transaction fee, pay it in full monthly. Everything else is optimization on top of that base.

UK students — Halifax Clarity is still the gold standard for travel spending. No fees, no drama. Combine it with a Monzo account for day-to-day.
